Instead we made sugar cookies and decorated them for Halloween. It was cold outside so it was a fun indoor activity and then we had something yummy to eat all weekend. The boys have some mad decorating skills.
Last week Mat helped his Dad and his two brothers re-roof his parents house. It took a while longer than they had anticipated but they learned a lot and I think it made them a little tougher. Thankfully noone got hurt in the process and now the roof looks fantastic! Good job boys.
Thatcher wanted to help out, so Mat gave him an apron from home depot and some gloves and he went up on the roof for a minute to try and contribute. I think Uncle Taylor let him nail a shingle to the roof.... good thing they kept a close eye on him, he returned to the ground level unscathed!
Luke had a slight altercation with the sidewalk... the sidewalk won! :(

Those were really good sugar cookies too!
Those sugar cookies look AMAZING!! Way to go! I need to get started on mine. Sugar cookies are just so darn time consuming!
And I must say that you are way braver than me! I don't think there's any way my kid would get to go on top of the roof. And not because he couldn't handle it...because I couldn't!!
OK - those cookies are totally more Martha than my quilt. I don't know if Martha even quilts, but I know she sure does cookies. Who needs a sewing machine!
Those are such darling cookies, the black frosting rocks. I am making cookies tomorrow!!!!
Yum! Those cookies look fabulous! You guys are such a cute family! See you Friday!
Just like everyone else, I am way impressed with those sugar cookies! They do take forever to make, but so worth it. You almost feel guilty for eating them they look so nice! Poor Luke, I hope he's all healed up now!
April, Thanks for taking pictures, I didn't document the "event" at all. It was mammoth. I love you guys. You make me so happy!!
